  1. Hi William. I personally am a fan of green tea; however, I am guilty of buying it in the bottled form. I really need to make my own homemade concoction to really see the benefits more, since bottled beverages usually have a ton of sugar in them. I really liked reading about the history of this herb and you had a lot of good educational content. I the research you performed did it mention if green tea boosted metabolism at all?

    1. Yes it does boost your little bit over time about 4% in a 24hr span.
      With that being said, the more cups you drink the more calories you’ll burn. That’s leads to you loosing weight along with boosting your metabolism.

    I guess my main question is why is green tea predominately made in China and Japan? Are there any green tea products produced solely in the US? If so, how does this green tea compare?

    I am a coffee drinker, but with the added benefits of green tea this definitely makes me want to try it out! ((:

    1. It’s considered to be better over there. Most things made in U.S. contain a lot of artificial flavors and harmful chemicals. So I wouldn’t recommend drinking it from U.S. Unless you know for sure how it was made and what’s actually in it

  4. Hi, Great article on green tea. I love taking green tea. Nice to know the history about green tea. I’m surprised to know that it was grown so long ago in BC. I have few doubts…. how many glasses of green tea is to be consumed per day to reduce weight? Will the weight be reduced only if green tea is taken along with exercise? What are the other benefits of consuming green tea?

    1. Drink a glass daily. You could do it with or without exercise. Choosing to exercise with it would boost weight loss time though. It helps with your overall health Aswell not just weight loss

  5. Green tea is absolutely great. It’s much better than fermented tea because it has less of an acid. I do have to say one more thing. Even though green tea is nice, it should not be drank at night. The main reason is because according to Chinese people like me, it’s sort of a “cooling” herb which is not usually the best thing to intake during night time. Another reason is because it has caffeine like you said. Anyway, thanks for the information.

  6. I love your website and yes ! I believe green tea can definitely aid weight loss.

    There are also loads of other benefits to drinking green tea, but with me its quiet a battle since I’m also a huge fan of coffee!
    This post has certainly reminded me of why I started drinking green tea in the first place, which was mainly to detoxify and cleanse from the inside out, so perhaps I ought to get back to drinking a lot more of it !
