Today’s topic is going to be geared towards the question are you running to lose weight quickly? Is it possible? Yes. But you should also implement the things I’m about to tell you below. To ensure you get the results you want.

Running To Lose Weight Quickly?

Running quickly

Ok, we know that running does, in fact, help with weight loss. It has been doing so for many years before we even came into this world. But if you are running and not applying other beneficial methods to lose weight. You are probably wasting your time and energy.

How Much Should You Run?

This all depends on your stamina and how much you can push yourself. If you are trying to lose weight quickly the run like such. If you are trying to lose weight in moderation run like it or just running to do it. Then treat is as such. But for my runners that have their mind made up.

In other words, know what you are running for and you have your goal set and plan on sticking to it. You should run according to your goal. I would suggest longer and faster-paced running/jogging for those looking to knock off the pounds in a timely fashion.

Timer

For those who run/jog every now and then, I would suggest shorter and slower paced running/jogging 15-20 minutes for those looking for fast results and 5-10 for those who are doing it in moderation.

Either way is good and but remember we have to crawl before we walk so. Don’t be discouraged if you cannot do the longer route just yet. Stay dedicated and you will soon be able to do it with ease.

Where Should You Run?

This just like the first topic is all according to you and what your goal is. Longer more advanced ground levels at a considerable pace would be ideal for someone who is looking to see results fast.

Shorter flatter or evenly grounded areas at a slower pace would be the way to go if you are doing it for the long-term results.

Running

I would suggest you do you’re running up and down the street, around the track field at a local school, the park, or gym. Either is fine and should give you the running experience you desire.

If you are not comfortable with any of those places I just mentioned. You could always invest in a treadmill. I did and I have a funny story to tell on why I did. You can view the treadmill and reason why I decided to get one here.

My Reason For Buying A Treadmill

This treadmill does it all. Top of the line real deal. I have had mine for some time now and I still use it to this day. One of the best investments of all my exercise equipment most definitely.

Good Running Shoes

Be sure that you have good durable running shoes. It’s plenty of shoes that claim to be good running shoes. But I will give you the best two in my opinion for men and for women.

It’s best to get something with a proven track record and comfortable with impact. You want something that is going to hold up to all that pressure you will be applying to it. You also want something that will keep your joints and ankles intact as well.

  1. Hey I found your article extremely informative, especially the parts about finding a good pair of running shoes and the part about how long you need to run in order to get the results you are looking for. I personally have never seen such drastic (in a good way) changes to my physical health and physique like I have when I run consistently. I have found that the 15-20 minute mark works best for rapid fat loss, usually seeing results take effect within a month or two!

I also checked out those shoes you recommended, I really like asics as well. How about Mizumo though? I have a pair of those and love them.

  2. Hi William

This was a very good article, I found it very interesting!
I’ve started to walk around the neighbourhood a few weeks ago and I get very tired each time I try to run, even for a short distance. Do you have some tips for this kind of problem? I would love to be able to run without stopping at least for 5 minutes:)
    Thank you very much!

    1. Your body just has to get use to it. It’s not a bad thing. It’s just foreign to your body at the moment. Because it’s not use to working that hard. But the more you do it the easier it will become.

  3. You have got a lot of really great posts, including this one. I used to run all the time, but have stopped when my doctor told me to stop running as I was having problems with the bottoms of my feet. That has been a few years back and I am almost tempted now to pick up running again. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with it. Once I start, I pretty much stay pretty focused on running almost every day. BUT I do hate to run in general LOL

  4. Hi healthguy, cool website! Running is a great way to lose weight but a lot of people are discouraged because they are worried about getting injured. The reason for this is that most of us run in such a way that we are doing more damage than good. I have had some professional running training and it really helped my technique which improved my times and has stopped me from getting injured. As important as the right running shoes and correct diet is stretching before and after running and again this is something that most people do wrong. Look I came up with a couple more topics for you to write about 🙂

  5. I have found the best success eating the exact foods you mentioned.

I’m more of a hiker myself, but I find that I am better able to maintain a healthy weight by staying on task eating healthy foods like vegetables, hummus, yogurt, and salmon.

Every once in a while I’ll eat a lot of unhealthy food and I’ll find that I am tired, sore, and irritable for a 12 to 24 hours.

Eating healthy and being active with a sport like running really helps the quality of life for me.
