You first and foremost have to be very serious when dieting to lose weight. One too many slip-ups will ruin all of your hard work. You must have good self-discipline while at the same time the courage to tell yourself no and mean it.
Trust me I know how hard it is to be on a diet and walk down the Debbie cake aisle in a grocery store. But once you’ve really made up your mind to not go back on your word. You will do it with ease. Soon you’ll knock off 5, 20, even 40 to 60 pounds if you follow what I’m about to tell you and do it faithfully.
Change Your Go To Order – Chicken Tenders, Pizza, Burgers etc.
Your go-to order is something you order the same time over and over again from various places. For example, no matter where I went restaurant wise I would get chicken tenders. I ate them faithfully for years. I also ate out over 10 times a month.
Once I started cutting back on them. I didn’t ditch chicken tenders completely.
I only ate them once or twice a month. I not only felt better. But I saved some money without even trying to.
I started ordering more healthy foods. I lost 5 pounds within a 1-month time frame. I’m not saying to stop eating what you love. Just do it in moderation if it’s unhealthy. If what you love eating is healthy and beneficial to what you are trying to achieve.
Then, by all means, continue eating that accordingly. On the other hand, if you’re eating habits are/were unhealthy like mine was. Let The Salty Aisle Go – Salt Is Not Your Friend
It’s not easy. Salt just seems to make everything taste better. At one point in my life, I didn’t even eat food if it didn’t have salt on it that I could taste. Things like chips and popcorn are loaded with salt. It’s tons of other salty treats and snacks out there but I’m going to use chips and popcorn for examples.
If you’re from the south like me the chips and popcorn are even saltier. That’s just how we do it here. It’s not good for you at all. Extremely unhealthy really when you over indulge in it. If you eat too much salt, the extra water stored in your body raises your blood pressure.
The more you eat the higher you blood pressure will climb. The higher your blood pressure also creates a greater strain on your overall health effecting things like your heart, arteries, kidneys, and brain. The less you taste it the less you’ll crave it.
Have At least a 300-Calorie Breakfast – Its Not As Big As It Sounds
I use to skip breakfast, I soon broke that habit now I don’t go a day without. You can do this with a healthy mix of protein and whole grains. I personally like natural peanut butter and apple butter sandwiches.
It’s small quick and it sticks so you don’t really feel so hungry later on in the day. With this method alone I easily sliced off 5-10 pounds. It took time. It did not happen overnight.
But that’s if you only want to do this and this only. I’m sure implementing this with other things listed here will speed up the process. My natural peanut butter and apple butter sandwich isn’t the only route to go, though. It’s a lot more 300-Calorie Breakfast meals out there. Such as the following
- Chocolate-Cherry Smoothie
- Smoked Salmon And Avocado On Rye
- Apple-Walnut Pancakes With Brown Sugar Yogurt
- Banana-Nut Breakfast Cookies (Really Good)
- Bacon-And-Egg Sandwich
- Chai Oatmeal With Peaches And Pecans
- Scrambled Egg Tostada
This is just a few more to add onto what I already suggested. Still more out there, though.
Pile On The Veggies – Vegetables Can Make The Difference
You’ve heard it since you were a kid. Vegetables are good for you to eat your vegetables. Most people take that and envision in their mind being tied to a chair and having carrots shoved down their throats. It’s not that bad. In fact, it’s not bad at all in my opinion.
If you’re not into veggies like that then you’re not the one to stand there and eat a pound of celery with no ranch. I get it but add a twist to it. Matter of fact you can make it fun.
Make it to where your eating/drinking them without knowing your eating/drinking them. It’s plenty of ways to do it. I’ll name a few you can add them on toppings on your meals, add minced broccoli to your scrambled eggs, Bake with your veggies, juice them or blend.
It’s ultimately up to you how you choose to take in your veggies. When I started doing this I started becoming full so quickly that I had no room left to eat things like chips or really rich desserts. The weight will start to diminish.
Do A Purge (No Not That Kind)
You must do a purge in your pantry, snack box, man cave or whatever you may call it. If it’s not around you don’t have access to it. If you don’t have access to it. The less you’ll think about it and the better your eating habits will become without you having to think about it.
Don’t just clean out your pantry and leave yourself with no food then you’ll be losing weight the wrong way. Once you clean out your pantry replace the foods with lower calorie snacks, such as roasted sunflower seeds or special K cereal. Now you have no choice but to eat healthier. With great decisions come great results.

Don’t Supersize It – Eat Like You Are Trying To Lose Weight
Don’t do it big every time you go out. I used to get large everything when I ordered fast food. It’s possible to just order one item or a small order of fries with a small box of 6 nuggets.
Doing this will knock off those pounds like never before. Without you really having to put much effort into doing so. I thought it was funny how I use to go through a drive-thru and order kids meals. I ended up collecting a lot of toys in the process too.
Try to avoid Nighttime Eating – You Are Making It Harder For You To Lose Weight
We all do it. It’s just one of those things. It’s not a crime but it can be detrimental to your weight loss experience. I’m not saying it’s necessary to cut off around this time but I do. My cut-off time is around 9:45 pm. I must admit I still struggle with this and it’s a work in progress. I’ve gotten better over time, though. So will you.
