In this post, I will be reviewing the Volumetrics Diet. For those of you who don’t know what this is. It’s a weight loss program/plan. I’m sure you could’ve guessed that but hey some people learn faster than others.
Who Developed Volumetrics Diet?
It was developed by a woman named Dr. Barbara Rolls. She has a very extensive track record and is very qualified to make a weight loss diet plan. If I’m not mistaken she has written a few books on this dietary plan also.
What Is Volumetrics Diet?
Well as you know they are in this business to help you lose weight. It is broken up into books all of which you can purchase on amazon. How do they plan to help me lose weight you may ask.
The answer is to help you quit on and off dieting. You will consume foods with low energy density and take in higher water content, things such as fruits and veggies. This program will include the following. Legend has it that you will become a better cook in the process as well.
- Satisfying Hunger – You will be full while following this plan.
- It reduces calories – Burning calories helps with weight loss.
- It meets your nutritional needs – They do all the hard work for you. All you have to do is follow what they ask you to.
- It includes physical activity – Like I have mentioned in many of my other posts. You don’t lose weight just by eating and wishing to lose weight. You must put in work literally. I will say that the program aims to get you to exercise 30 to 60 minutes a day. If you aren’t accustomed to that. It will be hectic in the beginning. You have been forewarned.
They have a low-calorie high volume eating plan. Which includes foods with a lot of water and fiber. Both of these increase your sense of fullness.
From what I have read this plan is loaded with all kinds of great foods. I will let you know that much for sure. I have seen a lot of weight loss programs in my day.
But not many have the great foods to match this one. While achieving weight loss goal. It doesn’t ban any food you can eat. As long as you stick to the calorie intake. But you can expect to see things like.
- Lean meats
- Whole grains
Within the main core of the program. All of these are great for many different reasons. When discussing weight loss.
It is for certain that if you are wishing to lose weight or maintain your current weight. You will learn how to do it here with this program. You will be pushed to your limits and at the same time shedding pounds like never before.
They promise to lose you 1 or 2 pounds every single week. As long as you follow their process. That right there is great. How motivating is that to see each week your weight decreasing for the better of your health? It will be a Kodak moment each and every time you get on that scale.
Dr.Rolls will provide you simple recipes and will offer guidance on how to stay within your recommended calorie intake.
The diet is easy and flexible with different ingredients. You should be hip to all the foods they ask you to consume. If not though it will not be hard to swap some things around and still get your recommend calorie intake.
They require a lot of home-cooked meals. So if you are a busy body and don’t really have time. This may be an issue for you. When doing this they also want you to keep records on the energy density levels of food you consume daily.
Which could pile on the load even more. Along with your weight loss tracking and exercise. So weight loss is a full-time job with this program.
It’s a series of books so it’s not too pricey at all. It goes for about $7.19 to $14 on amazon as of the time I wrote this post. You will probably end up spending around 35 or 40 something for all. Being that you are in control.
You have to be more disciplined with a dietary plan like this. Because once you put the book down it will be easy to get distracted and lose focus on what you are supposed to be doing.
You have to give it your full undivided attention in order for this to work for you.
Ok, there you have it the volumetrics diet. Like I say all the time. You should check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program. To see if it’s ok for you to do. This one here will require a special kind of dedication and determination to do.
Because you have no coaching other than writing on paper and no real person to push you. It’s really all cup to you and what you make of it.
Would I recommend it? Eh, maybe I say that because of the way it’s presented. It’s a book and most people need more than that to get through with weight loss.
They need more a visual or hands-on approach or at least that’s how it was for me. But if you can do it. Go for it. Anything is possible.
